Project Plan

Where will I shoot?
I am planning on shooting in Manchester, on the streets taking mainly portraits of people doing everyday things and people that I think look interesting. I am hopefully going to be able to find some time to go to London and shoot there as it's a big city and I think there will be lots of potential for interesting photos. I like the page Humans of New York, it's based on taking portraits of random people in New York and asking them something and finding out about their life and is just an insight into the many different people that live in New York.

I would like to use this idea and somehow do the same but in my own way. The photographer that has influenced my idea is Brandon Stanton who runs HONY.

Equipment
I will be shooting with my camera, Canon EOS 1200D and a tripod. I will consider using a neutral density filter which acts as 'sunglasses' for your camera. Mainly using my 18-55mm lens but possibly sometimes using my 50-200mm lens.

I really like my idea and I think it could potentially turn into something very interesting, it's just important to approach people politely.

If this idea falls through, another idea I have is to shoot some long exposures on the motorway, it isn't as exciting but I do think long exposures can look very nice if they turn out right.

The best thing about my plan to shoot in Manchester is that it's very near by, just a train journey away and there is a lot of different places to go and potentially interesting people to meet.
